A northeast Nebraska teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl has been put on indefinite leave by school administration.

Bloomfield School Superintendent Robert Marks said that while Hoffman is still under contract by the school and under Nebraska State statue, the school, on advice from the school's attorney has been put on leave.  Marks said Hoffman will not return until the matter is completed.

On Friday, Nebraska State troopers arrested 29-year-old John Hoffman, a math teacher at the Bloomfield High School, and charged him with sexual assault of a child.

During a interview with officers, Hoffman admitted having sex with the girl several times at his home.

Bloomfield school's superintendent plans to discuss hoffman's employment status with board members at a meeting on Monday night.

Hoffman has been ordered to have no contact with the teen.
