BLOOMFIELD, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol has arrested a 29-year-old math teacher from Bloomfield on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
The patrol says John Hoffman was arrested Friday and faces a charge of sexual assault of a child.
The patrol says a search of Hoffman's home turned up evidence of sexual assault.
Hoffman is listed as a math teacher at Bloomfield Community Schools' junior-senior high. Bloomfield Principal Kim Lingenfelter says a substitute teacher is filling in for Hoffman this week.
She declined to comment on whether Hoffman is still employed at the school or whether he has been placed on leave.
