Family Holds Diaper Drive To Help Struggling Families

Posted: Updated:

For some families, having a baby can put a strain on the pocket book.

In diaper costs alone, the average infant can go up to through 5,000 diaper changes, according to statistics, and that can all add up for struggling families.

But one family is addressing the need in our community.

The Scofield family held a diaper drive today at the Singing Hills Walmart in Sioux City.

Sisters Anabell and Misty came up with the idea for the drive, and recruited the rest of the family to help with a community service project as a part of their beauty pageant work.

The Scofield's offered prizes from local businesses and restaurants to folks who donated diapers.

More than 100 bags of diapers will go to the Community Action Agency, the Center for Siouxland and the CSADV shelter.
