A Siouxland couple who sent authorities on a wild goose chase last month appeared before a judge on Thursday.

Matthew and Rowena Schade took their children and fled their Creighton, NE home after being questioned about domestic-abuse allegations in march.

Both Nebraska and South Dakota authorities were searching for them before they finally turned themselves in.

On Tuesday both admitted to violating their probation by leaving the state.

They were previously convicted in the burglary of a grocery store in Plainview.

However, Mathew denied stealing a pickup from a fire department in the Black Hills.

Mathew's trial begins on May 28th, which is the same day Rowena will be sentenced.
