On Monday, May 11 at 7:28 p.m. the Sioux County Sheriff's Office responded to a serious personal injuryaccident which occurred on Highway 18 just east of Boyden, IA that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old Sac City, Iowa, man.


According to the Sioux County Sheriff's Department, Andy Enyart, age 55, of Waukon, IA was driving a 2000 Freightliner semi tractor trailer westbound on Highway 18. Patrick Duffy, age 19, of Sac City, IA was driving a 1998 Chevy Camaro eastbound on Highway 18. Duffy
veered into the westbound lane where he struck Enyart's semi in a head-on collision.


Duffy received fatal injuries from the accident; he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sioux County Medical Examiner.


Enyart was transported to the Sheldon, IA hospital by the Boyden Ambulance for minor injuries.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Boyden Fire and Ambulance, Sheldon Fire andRescue and Iowa Dept. of Transportation.


The accident remains under investigation.
