Spring storms caused a variety of damage throughout Siouxland on Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

In most areas, the high winds lead to tree damage ranging from very minor to severe.  For instance, in Hartington, NE a large tree landed on top of a home.  Emergency Management officials in Clay County tell Channel 9 Eyewitness News that no one was injured in that accident or in the storm.

Here in Sioux City, the damage has been minor for the most part.  A downed tree in the 3200 block of Pierce Street caused a traffic headache for morning commuters as they had to detour around the block.

The storm also led to a varity of power outages throughout the region.  You can click on this link to see Mid-American Energy's areas that have been affected by power outages.  We've also included several web links to help you prepare for storms and deal with power outages.
