Greetings from the Cornhusker state!

The small town of West Point, Nebraska is where I call home.  I grew up being the youngest in a family of six. My favorite childhood memory is sitting around the dinner table every night, taking turns sharing our story of the day. When I was younger, I was convinced there was a profession out there that would let me tell "stories of the day" for a living.  I was right. Somewhere between watching my very first Bloomberg Television newscast, and recreating "Teacher Barbie" into "Reporter Barbie," I decided I'd be a journalist.

I spent four years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln receiving a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism with concentrations in history, English and political science.  I was an active member in the AERHO National Broadcasting Society and a student ambassador for UNL's College of Journalism.

In the Summer of 2008, I moved to New York City and interned with CBS Evening News.  I became part of Channel 9's KCAU team a year later.  I guess it goes to show, you can take the girl out of the Midwest, but you can't take the Midwest out of the girl.

In my free time, I'm rooting for the Boston Redsox, reading at Starbucks, running outside and reviewing the latest headlines.  Incredibly passionate about human interests, I find great satisfaction in motivating and educating others through the stories I report.  This is why I am so honored to be part of a news organization that takes pride in putting Siouxland first.

If there's an issue or concern you'd like reported, I'd love to hear from you.
