Late Starts Friday, November 20th

Let's just say I am a Siouxlander through-and- through. I've lived all over the Tri-State area. I spent most of my childhood in several small towns across Nebraska.  When I was ten I moved to South Sioux City and then at the end of my sophomore year a family move brought me to Sioux City, Iowa.  I graduated from East High School and then continued my education at The University of South Dakota.

With moving so much, I was always "The New Girl" growing up, but I wouldn't change it for the world.  I have met so many wonderful people, and have experienced countless exciting moments with each and every move.

Now, why Journalism?  That's easy, when we had to pick a job for career day in ninth grade my teacher told us to think long and hard about a job that fit our personalities.  So that's when  my constant need to always be in the know, my fascination with people and their "stories",  and my drive to challenge myself,  led me to the news room- literally.  Ironically, I chose to come to Channel 9 Eyewitness News to job shadow.  At that's where the race to my career started.

The race continued at the University Of South Dakota, where I can proudly say I basically lived at the Contemporary Media and Journalism department.  Most of my time was spent involved with the student run television station, but I also dabbled here and there with radio and print journalism.

Now, Outside of work, how I spend my days are as random as I am.  Whether its road tripping, boating, or grilling out with friends, I love being outside. Come winter, that's when I use being cooped up inside to my advantage. I'm all about trying new things, reading how-to books, and then dragging my friends along when I go on my crazy "you have to try this" kicks.

I am thrilled to begin my career in my hometown, where I can combine my passion for story telling with my knowledge of the area to bring you stories that I truly care about, and I hope you will too.

Like I said, I'm beyond fascinated with peoples "stories" and would love to hear yours. If you have any story ideas, or a story you would like to know more about, feel free to email me.
