The pilot of a crop duster that crashed in a Siouxland cornfield Monday morning survived the incident.

The plane went down about a mile and a half south of Royal, Iowa.

Eyewitnesses say the plane went up over power lines, ropped back down to a normal flying level, and then crashed.

The pilot, Michael McDonald of Idaho, was treated and released for minor injuries at an area hospital.

The crop duster was spraying a non-poisonous pesticide. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says won't be a threat to the environment.
