A Siouxland man has been arrested and charged with perjury, in a decades-old cold-case murder.

We now know more about what he's accused of lying about.

There is a new twist in Lyon County's unsolved murder case of Wilma June Nissen.

Now, decades after her death, 82-year-old John VanGammeren of Inwood, Iowa has been arrested for lying to officers about various run-ins with prostitutes.

Wilma June Nissen's body was found in ditch near Rock Rapids in 1978.

The 28-year-old was a known prostitute at the time of her death.

In court documents filed today, officers say VanGammeren lied about transporting a stripper or  prostitute from Sioux Falls to his home, as well as who arranged the strippers, and the number of times they performed at his home.

Officers also said VanGammeren denied knowing a woman named Annette Jacobosen.

Authorities aren't commenting on Jacobsen's role in the investigation.

VanGammeren will face a judge early next month.

If convicted he could spend 30 years in prison.
