BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - A southeastern Nebraska park that celebrates the rugged prairie lives of homesteaders is scheduled to host an eclectic celebration of worldwide music and dance.
From noon to 6 p.m. on Sept. 13, about a dozen groups of dancers and musicians will perform at Homestead National Monument near Beatrice.
They include Colombian, Mexican and American Indian dancers, a gospel choir, a steel-drum band and others.
There is no admission fee and food will be available to buy. The event is sponsored by the National Park Service and Nebraska Educational Telecommunications.
