SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) - A former Sidney elementary teacher accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boy has been sentenced to two years in jail on reduced charges.
In an agreement with prosecutors, 38-year-old Todd Nienhueser (NEEN-how-ser) pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
He was arrested on Dec. 23 after Sidney police found him with the 16-year-old.
Police said Nienhueser met the boy on an Internet site last summer, when the boy was 15. Nienhueser told police the boy claimed to be 19.
The Sidney district fired Nienhueser in January.
Nienhueser was sentenced this week to serve a year in the Cheyenne County Jail for each misdemeanor count. The sentences will be served at the same time.
