A collision on Old Highway 75 near Sloan, Iowa sent five people to the hospital tonight.

Around 8:00 tonight authorities were called to mile marker 3 on Old Highway 75.

Police say a car traveling in the Northbound lane went into a ditch for an unknown reason, came back out onto the road, crossed the center line and collided head on with a minivan.

The driver of the car was taken to Mercy Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

The two adults and two children in the minivan were all taken to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries.
