OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A research firm says the Omaha area is likely to be 1 of the best-performing real estate markets in the country over the next year.
Local Market Monitor says Omaha is 1 of 10 housing markets where there was not a big housing boom, and the recession has had a relatively mild impact.
Those two factors should help keep home prices stable in the Omaha and Council Bluffs, Iowa, area.
The Local Market Monitor is predicting that home prices will fall over the next year in many parts of the country.
