A Sibley man is dead after he ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle.

The crash happened Friday evening a couple miles outside of Sibley.

According to Lyon County authorities the man, 22 year old Juan Armando Ayala was traveling South on March Avenue when failed to stop at the intersection of 210-th Street.

He then hit 49-year-old Loralyn Korthals of George who was driving on 210-th Street.

Both vehicles ended up in the ditch and Ayala was pronounced dead at the scene.

Korthals was taken to Sheldon hospital.
