For the past 20 years the Senior Companion Program has been lending a hand, ear and heart to siouxland's elders under the sponsorship of Center for Siouxland. That is until now.

The federly funded sponsorship has now been transferred to Rock Valley's Senior Companion program based in Rock Valley, Iowa.

According to representatives at United Way, Center for Siouxland was cited for record keeping errors and the overpayment of elderly companions back in 2004.

When these deficiencies were not amended, the facility was notified that their three year grant would no longer be renewed.

The Center for Siouxland will still continue to offer other programs. Meanwhile, Rock Valley's Senior Companion Program offers services to folks in all of Woodbury County.
