It's a tasteless joke that hasn't left anyone laughing.

A Sioux City man found a dead deer on his porch, ressed in a clown costume complete with makeup.

To animal control officers, it was a sick joke.

For the man who actually woke up to the deer on his porch, he wants answers.

Mitch Miller woke up to go to work just like any other day, little did he know, it wouldn't turn out the way he expected.

"Got dressed, thought it was a normal day, walked out the door and looked to my right and we have this couch sitting here we were trying to get rid of and I see a dead deer that is laying there dressed like a clown." Says Mitch.

What he and others at first thought was funny, quickly turned into a sick practical joke.

"We've got a child living here so it's not healthy, its not safe. Its gross, I've got people living here and then I'm a hunter and I would rather be hunting them like you should be rather than having a dead one on the side of the road dressed up as a clown in my front yard, I don't like it at all." Says Mitch.

Animal control was called in and the deer was taken away.

Although animals and practical jokes are not an uncommon occurrence this time of year, this was first for many.

"I'm going to assume just because it's October, people want to have fun, dress stuff up in halloween costumes and play practical jokes on people, and I think it's immature. It's a dead animal- it's not supposed to be dressed up for practical jokes." Animal Control Officer, Jake Appel.

When Mitch was asked if he knew who could have done this? He had two people in mind, they were ruled out, but that isn't going to stop him for trying to figure out who left him with the unexpected guest.

If you ever find any kind of dead animal on your property, call animal control so they can safely remove it.
