LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has planned some additional prescribed burns this fall to take place when conditions are favorable.
The burns are scheduled for the following wildlife management areas: Myrtle Hall in Loup County; Sherman Reservoir in Sherman County; Pressey in Custer County; Leonard Koziol in Howard County; Osage in Johnson County; and Hackberry in Antelope County.
The primary goal of a burn is to reduce invasive species competing with native species. Burning improves the quality of habitat available to a variety of wildlife species.
