Desperate Measures Members Feeling The Burn

Desperate Measures Members Feeling The Burn

Posted: Updated:

It's halfway through the Desperate Measures class at the YMCA and participants are feeling the burn.

Finding the motivation to work out is difficult for just about everyone.

But the Desperate Measures class was made for those who need a little inspiration.

With only three weeks left, they're kicking it in for the final stretch.

Four years after the birth of her son, Instructor Angela Eyer knew it was time to lose the baby weight.

Knowing how difficult it was for her shed the pounds, she wanted to pass on what she had learned.

"I hired and fired my trainer throughout that year because I was getting frustrated, but I knew that the change had to come from within. So with this desperate measures program, that's how we get that change to happen, says Eyer.

The program is tailored to help those afraid to work out completely remodel their life.

From work out habits to eating habits, and everything in between.

"It's not just about what the scale says. It's about your whole being. So it's mind, body, and spirit combined into one."

Lunges, and sit ups, and push ups, oh my!

Our very own Sports Director Tim Seaman and News Director Carla Kreegar have been pumping iron in the class over the past few weeks, weighing in every monday to track their progress.

It's a hard work out, that takes dedication.

But you walk away a happier, healthier person.

The next session meets three times a week and starts on November 9th.

It's $75 for members and $125 for non-members.

Make sure you check out Tim and Carla's blog about their progress on our website.
