She's the great, great grand daughter of the founder of Wayne State College.
Hilary Pile was found dead in the dorm that shares her family name.
A discovery as shocking as what could have caused her death.
There were few words floating around the Wayne State Campus today.
Just the feeling of shock.
Those who knew Hilary Pile will miss the smart, wonderful person they say she was.
Students are stunned.
The Wayne State College campus is mourning the death of 19 year old Hilary Pile.
"This is our fall break so most of the students are off Monday and Tuesday, and she didn't show up at home, and someone checked on her, and she was found dead in her bed in her resident hall, says president of the college Dr. Richard Collings.
Wayne police say there's no indication of foul play, suicide, drugs or alcohol involved.
But according to KETV in Omaha, the family believes Pile died from complications from anorexia.
"You know when you lose a young person in their prime of life, and things are just getting started in life it's always tragic for everybody, says Collings.
Especially for those who knew her.
"I had her in some of my classes. So it was really shocking to know that she wouldn't be there anymore, says student Lacey Johnson.
"I played golf against her in high school. I thought it was really sad that something like this would happen at Wayne State and i just was really shocked about it, says student Megan Finke.
Students describe Pile as a great person, and extremely smart.
"Sometimes when i had questions she was really good at explaining it, so she would help a few of us out, she would explain stuff on the test, she was so smart about explaining it to us better."
"It's really sad that she couldn't, because she was a really smart girl, she couldn't, i think she was pre-med, she couldn't fulfill her dreams and go on."
But Pile will go on in a different way.
And students, family and friends, can only give their best to her.
"I wish them the best and we'll be praying for them."
"We'll all be praying for her here on Wayne State campus."
