For nearly four hours, firefighters battled the blaze that destroyed Hancock Concrete Products, including some of its own employees.

At the same time, just feet away in their own backyard, residents watched what they called, "The largest fire they have ever seen."

"Our neighbor Gus came over and knocked on our door at about 7:30 and said will you come out and see what's going on? We see smoke out there sometimes in the summer, but never in the winter time." Says Eye Witness and Lake View Resident, Beth Litterer.

Within a matter of minutes, the largest fire Kevin and Beth Litterer had ever seen, was raging in their own backyard.

"It was literally, probably five minutes before a majority of the place was up in flames." Says Litterer.

Beth caught the inferno on tape with amazing eyewitness video.

In the video, you can see firefighters trying to contain a fire that was quickly destroying the 100 year old building.

"We saw them grab hoses and take the water out of our neighbor's pond. Lot's of lights and just trying to find the best vantage point on how to fight the fire." Says Litterer.

It was one of Hancock Concrete Products own employees that was given the daunting task of battling a blaze that sent flames 50 feet into the air.

"Well, it's still quite a shocker I guess. The page went off and I was like, wow! Came down and it was on fire. It's been over here for over 100 years and now its gone." Says Lake View Resident and Hancock Employee.

No one was hurt in the blaze, but with the town of Lake View's second largest employer lying in ruins- up to 30 people could be without a job- leaving a lasting impact on the community.
