A current council member is out, and a former member is back in.
The results of Tuesday's Sioux City City Council race could shake things up a bit in city hall.
The 3 winners are Tom Padgett getting 24% of the vote, John Fitch with 22% and Keith Radig with 17%.
Incumbent Jim Rixner was not re-elected, coming in just behind Radig.
To some the results were certainly a shock.
But a returning veteran and some new faces, are all ready to hit the ground running.
All five candidates nervously waited at the Woodbury County Courthouse.
Just 20 minutes after the precincts closed, there were faces of disappointment, and faces of relief.
For those that made the cut, well, they can't wait to take their seats.
"I am very happy that the people of Sioux City elected me this time, and I'm ready to get to work over the next couple of months to be prepared to go forth in January, says Councilman Elect Tom Padgett.
"I'm really excited, honored to be selected by our voters in Sioux City. I'm going to keep my pledge to work hard for our voters and taxpayers, says Councilman Elect Keith Radig.
"Feels good to be on the winning side, this is my first experience at this so, it feels pretty good, says Councilman Elect John Fitch.
According to Woodbury County Auditor Pat Gill, this election had a record low turnout.
Current council member Jim Rixner was running for what he hoped to be his second term. He declined to comment.
