ABC's "The Middle" Star Patricia Heaton to Speak in Sioux City

United Way of Siouxland is preparing for a milestone celebration as they announce two time Emmy award-winning actress Patricia Heaton as their speaker for the 10th Anniversary Women’s Power Lunch. Patricia Heaton currently stars in the ABC hit show "The Middle" which can be seen right here on KCAU Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm. The Power Lunch will be held on Thursday, April 22, at the Marina Center in South Sioux City, NE. The luncheon will be preceded by a VIP Reception where guests will be able to meet Ms. Heaton and have a photo taken with her. Seating will begin promptly at 11:30 and the program will conclude at 1:30 with the 3nd annual Power of the Purse raffle drawing.
United Way of Siouxland’s Women’s Power Lunch began in 2001 to focus attention on and raise funds for issues impacting Siouxland women. Following its first two years addressing cancer and heart disease in women, the popular United Way event began a partnership with the Waitt Family Foundation to help finance scholarships for single parents and transitioning homemakers. To date, over $173,000 has been awarded in single parent scholarships. Proceeds from this year’s event will again be matched by the Waitt Family Foundation to award scholarships and certification grants to single parents and transitioning homemakers deserving of this assistance.
The 3nd Annual Power of the Purse Raffle will be held at the luncheon with tickets for sale before and at the event. Once again this year, there will be surprise “Purse Stuffers” in each purse valued at $50 or more. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. The grand prize drawing will be for a $500 Service Gift Certificate at Ave Medical Laser Spa; Second prize is a teeth whitening package from Lilly Family Dentistry; Third prize is a gift basket from Rhonda’s Speakeasy valued at $150. Purse donations are currently being accepted.
Cost for the event is $50 per person for the luncheon and an additional $75 per person for the VIP reception. Table sponsorships are available once again for those who wish to partner with United Way in contributing to this wonderful cause. Sponsorship levels for the event include:
$500 Table of 10 for the luncheon
$1250 Table of 10 for the luncheon and 10 VIP tickets
$5000 Two Tables of 10 for the luncheon and 20 VIP tickets, along with additional promotional benefits.
