SDHD Announces Two Public H1N1 Clinics
SDHD will be offering the H1N1 vaccination to individuals in the five target populations as identified by CDC at two upcoming public vaccination clinics. The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices has identified the following priority groups of individuals to receive the H1N1 vaccine first:
- Pregnant women
- People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
- Health care and emergency medical services workers
- Persons 6 months through 24 years of age, and
- People ages 25 through 64 years who have certain health conditions that put them at higher risk for complications from H1N1.

Individuals who are in these five priority groups are encouraged review the vaccine information sheets, download and complete a copy of the H1N1 consent form for each person to be vaccinated before coming to the clinic. Consent materials are available in English and Spanish. Vaccine Information Sheets are available in multiple languages. By bringing a completed consent form to the clinic, the public can help to move people through the clinic easier. Blank consent forms will be available at the clinic.
Bishop Heelan School
Kids in the Bishop Heelan School system will also be getting the vaccinate. The clinic will take place Monday November 16th, from 12-6pm. It will take place in the Heelan High School Gym.
Homer, NE
Friday November 13th, a public clinic will take place in Homer. Nebraska. Both the mist and the shot will be available. The clinic will last until the vaccine supply runs out.
Central Lyon Schools
Central Lyon School in Rock Rapids will be holding a clinic Friday November 13th for students only. All grades, preschool to 12th, will be able to get the vaccine for free with parent permission. The clinic will be held at the high school from 10am-6pm.
