He's fresh off a big win in court, but a South Sioux City lawyer won't be able to practice for awhile.

The Nebraska Supreme Court has suspended Bryan Smith Jr.'s license to practice law for six months. The punishment follows a complaint from a case in 2007.

Henry Johnson filed a grievance saying Smith accepted payment for a child custody case, but never followed up.

Just last month in Dakota County, Nebraska Smith successfully defended Andrew Orellana from a first degree murder charge.

In a separate complaint, three other former clients of Smith are making similar accusations. Further disciplinary action may still come from that case.

Channel Nine Eyewitness News did try to contact Smith's office for comment, but the listed number for his office has been disconnected.
