OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - The Douglas County Health Department is offering some suggestions for preparing those Thanksgiving turkeys.

Health Director Dr. Adi Pour (ODD'-ee POOR) says people could encounter health problems if they eat turkey that is not cooked thoroughly.

Turkeys should be roasted at 325 degrees, and it's safe when cooked to a minimum of 165 degrees in all parts as measured by a food thermometer.

Frozen turkeys require a day of thawing time for each four to five pounds. A thawed turkey can be kept in the refrigerator for one or two days.
