Timothy Sohler will likely spend the next two decades behind bars for the stabbing death of his wife. As part of a plea deal, he was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison for attempted murder and willful injury.

In December, he killed his wife Susan. According to court documents, Timothy retrieved a knife from the kitchen during an argument and stabbed her repeatedly. He then prevented calls to 911 until she had stopped breathing.

The couple's 13 year–old twin son and daughter were home at the time of the incident. Their daughter was the one who called 911.

In a nearly expressionless tone, Timothy apologized for those he has hurt.

"I'm so sorry for ending Sue's life, I'm so sorry for what I did. I'm so sorry for the pain and suffering I caused Brian and Alyssa, and the Robinson's family, and the Sohlers."

Susan's father, Richard Robinson, also wanted to make one last statement that Sohler could take with him behind bars.

"You took Brian and Alyssa mother, and the mother is the heart of the family, and they will never be the same without their mother," said Robinson. "Sue's life was her children and you held Alissa back from calling 911."

Even after the heinous crime, the family still wants to forgive Timothy.

"Tim, I want you to know that even though you have not asked me for forgiveness, I do not hate you. I can forgive your spiritual soul, but not your mortal being," said Robinson.

The judge also ruled that Sohler's sentence can be reduced for good conduct.
