When you're sick, scheduling a doctor's appointment can be quite the pain. St. Luke's is trying to change that.
The next time you're sick, you can you can go to the doctor, pick up your prescription, and even grab some orange juice all at the same place.
St. Luke's opened a new clinic right inside the Walmart on Singing Hills, and doctors are standing by to treat whatever ails you.
But will you want to go to Walmart–mart for medical care?
"I go to the pharmacy at Walmart so I don't see why I just wouldn't go to the doctor there," said Andrea Diehm, of Emerson, NE.
The clinic will treat walk–ins, or you can even make an appointment.
"It's part of the routines of the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans, tens of thousands of Sioux Cityans to be sure. We just put the clinic right in the pathway of their lives," said Chad Markham, St. Luke's VP Of Clinics.
Walmart is a busy store, so what if there is too long of a wait to see a doctor?
Well, if there is a wait at the clinic. They will give you a pager, and just buzz you to let you know when they're ready for you.
"This is just another option you can tack on a visit at the end, or beginning, or even during a trip to the store here," said John Durant, NextDoor Health VP of Marketing.
There are some restrictions at the clinic. They cannot treat children under 18 months, and right now there is no X–ray machine.
