OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A former Ralston teacher has been convicted at his second trial for inappropriately touching young students. Fifty-nine-year-old Nicolas Richter was found guilty yesterday by a Douglas County jury. Three boys testified that Richter groped them during class.
MCCOOK, Neb. (AP) - Red Willow County is using an Internet auction to sell parts, equipment and tools that once belonged to a helicopter kit company. The auction will run through December 18th on the Big Iron website. In August, the owner of Pawnee Aviation signed over the tools and equipment to Red Willow County.
YORK, Neb. (AP) - Cornerstone Bank in York has made a deal to buy Bank of Marquette in Marquette. The deal is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close next year. Bank of Marquette President John Ferguson says that after 50 years in business, he thinks it's time to devote himself to family and other interests.
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Low demand has led to the cancellation of a charter flight that had been lined up to take Nebraska fans to Florida for the Gator Bowl. Pennsylvania-based Collegiate Athletics canceled the Southwest Airlines charter. Steve Glenn with Executive Travel of Lincoln says it's the first time in 27 years that he's had a charter to a bowl game canceled.
