I have had a lifelong calling as a meteorologist. As a young boy I
was fascinated by all kinds of storms. I started keeping weather records at
the age of 12, and already was in hot water with Mom for running in and
out of the house constantly during blizzards to measure the snow depths. I
also was known to frequently miss fly balls while dreamily staring at the
clouds.

At sixteen I began my university studies in Meteorology at New York
University. The National Weather Service Forecast Office in New York City gave
me my first real weather job (since they couldn't keep me out of the place)
while I obtained my Bachelor's in Meteorology. I went on to Penn State
for a Master's Degree in Meteorology, where I began my TV career and also
taught an undergraduate weather class.

I have worked as a TV meteorologist in a variety of cities, mostly in the
plains where the more severe weather patterns have put my expertise to use.
During the past 23 years I have served as Chief Meteorologist in Washington,
D.C., Tulsa, and most recently Huntsville, AL before coming to Siouxland.

I am very happy to be in a place that is great to raise a family and where the
forecasting is challenging, exciting, and sometimes vital, both winter and
summer. I have two sons and am still happily married to my teenage
sweetheart. I love hiking, skiing, and working out. I also love singing
in the choir, and gardening.
