Late Starts Friday, November 20th

An Iowa native, I grew up watching Iowa's weather. Born and raised in Dubuque, I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B. A. in Communication/Electronic Media. My first job after school was with CBS in New York, where I worked with The Late Show with David Letterman, 60 Minutes, and CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. Following my time at CBS, I worked as a television talent booker, booking guests on various types of TV shows.

After several years of working in television, I finally decided to combine my interests in weather and broadcasting and earned a M. S. in Geosciences/Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Then I headed to KAAL-TV in Austin, Minnesota where I covered all four great seasons of the upper Midwest. While in Minnesota, I met my wife Shelley, who was an anchor and reporter at the same station. In July 2008, I joined the Channel 9 Eyewitness News team. I look forward to being back working in my home state. Aside from my interests in television and weather, I enjoy exploring new places and attractions with my wife. I am also a life-long car nut. Old cars, new cars, I like them all, and I am especially proud of the 1967 Volkswagen Bug in my garage.

I am committed to providing Siouxland with an accurate, easy-to-understand forecast and I am committed to keeping you informed during severe weather.
