South Sioux City Honored For Quality Of Life

The city of South Sioux City is being honored for the new and improved Y.M.C.A.

Tonight the city will be celebrating the winning of the Silver Award for Municipal Excellence, from the National League of Cities, for the new facility.

The Awards for Municipal Excellence identifes and showcases outstanding city and town programs that improve the quality of life.

Winners of this award exemplify excellence in city governance, best practices in municipal policy, and established model programs that improve the lives of their citizens. 

The eight winning cities are nationally recognized and celebrated during NLC's Congress of Cities Conference and Exposition; in addition, winners receive a $1,000 donation to a local non-profit organization of their choice.

The award will be presented tonight at the South Sioux City council meeting, at 5:00 P.M.
