Small Town, Big Help

After being dropped from his insurance in April, Gary Rioridan has been struggling to pay for medications to keep him stable as he waits for a liver transplant.

Sunday, there was a spaghetti feed in Pierson, IA benefitting Rioridan.  Several people showed up to help out long the long time resident.

Rioridan was brought to tears after seeing how many people showed up to support him.

" It's means i got a lot of friends, a lot, some I didn't even know I had," said Riordan.

Being such a large part of the community, when Rioridan started getting sick, people took notice especially his best friend Clarence Puhl.

"Both myself and him used to work on cars he just kinda quit doing that because he don't have the strength anymore, and the ambition. (He's) just kinda taking it easy trying to get better and stronger."

The money raised from the dinner, will go towards providing Rioridan with the medications that he needs while waiting for the Liver Transplant.
