SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) _ A charitable trust established by the late hotel and real estate baroness Leona Helmsley is providing millions of dollars to boost breast cancer screenings in South Dakota.
The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust is giving $3.2 million over three years to five hospitals for digital mammography.
Digital screenings let specialists do their work without film, store and transfer results electronically and make more accurate readings.
The money is going to hospitals in Mitchell, Chamberlain, Rapid City, Sturgis and Spearfish and will reach each of the three largest health networks in the state.
