VERMILLION, S.D. - - The University of South Dakota volleyball team will hold its "Dig for the Cure" match on Saturday, Sept. 25 when the Coyotes play host to North Dakota.
The match, which is USD's home and Great West Conference opener, begins at 5 p.m. at the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D.
The Dig for the Cure match is being held to raise awareness about breast cancer. Coyote players will wear pink warm-ups and also use pink volleyballs. Fans are invited to wear pink to the game as well.
"We're excited for our first home match of the season against North Dakota," USD head coach Matt Houk said. "That is also our Dig for the Cure match, to help raise awareness for breast cancer, and the following day is the Susan G. Komen Race here in Vermillion, so it should be a great weekend, and should hopefully raise a lot of money for a great cause."
Coyote volleyball players will be volunteering at Sunday's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at the DakotaDome as well.
