Dive Team Rescues Drivers Stranded by Floodwaters in Plymouth County

Two drivers were rescued from the tops of their cars Sunday after being stranded by flood waters.

According to the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department, one car was driven by 21 year old Laura Mayer of Marcus the other car was driven by Nathan Markworth of Vermillion.  One of the cars was washed off the highway near 190th Street and L22 east of Remsen, IA the other was stranded in the roadway.  There was only one occupant in each car.

When deputies arrived, Mayer and Markworth were on top of their cars. Dive team experts were brought in to retrieve them safely.
