Once SC Mail Processing Center Closes, Some Employees Could Get Paid Not To Work

The Sioux City mail processing center closes Friday, but many workers could get paid even if they don't work.

The U.S. Postal service will transfer the work to Sioux Falls, but not all the workers will go.

100 workers took other mail jobs, and 40 are on standby status, which means they're waiting to be called on.  They will get paid while they wait.

Those workers will eventually need to take another postal job before their contract ends in 2015.
