It's another reopening along the riverfront. This Friday, the Sergeant Floyd River Museum and Welcome Center will reopen its doors for the first time in four months. The Sergeant Floyd Museum and Welcome Center were one of the many businesses along the Missouri River forced to close because of the flooding. But luckily for these two businesses, there was no water damage to either building. So instead of cleaning up flood waters, they took the time to do some overdue repairs.
"We actually took the opportunity to get in there and do a little clean up fix up for about 20 years for some of the things that haven't been done, so there's a little bit of a silver lining to it," said Steve Hansen, director of Sergeant Floyd Museum and Welcome Center.
The museum and welcome center will return to its normal hours of operations starting Tuesday. And if you're planning on heading to the reopening on Friday, be sure to remember Larsen Park Road is still closed between the Argosy Casino and welcome center, so you will need to use the Hamilton interchange to get on to the museum and welcome center.
