Occupy Iowa Making Plans For Caucuses

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ A few dozen protesters in Iowa say they've stumbled on the perfect way to draw more attention to the Occupy cause: Occupy the state's first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses.

But so far, they're having a hard time generating much interest and winning few commitments to camp out at candidates' headquarters in Des Moines in the weeks before the Jan. 3 vote.

Organizers say it's too early to say how many might eventually arrive, but organizers in New York, Boston and Chicago said this week no one in their protest communities were planning Iowa trips.

It's a sign the nascent movement aimed at pointing out corporate excess and income disparity hasn't yet attained the same level of political energy as the tea party did following the health care debate of 2009.
