It's Homeward Bound For Snickers, the Pitbull

Posted: Updated:

It's the heart–warming story people can't stop talking about. A Pitbull Ban in Aurelia, Iowa separated a Vietnam veteran and retired police officer from his service dog.

After two weeks away from his best friend, Snickers, Jim Sak is whole again.

Sak says, "He's a part of me. This right side don't work, but he does."

Partially paralyzed from a stroke he suffered years ago, Sak says there's no way around it. He needs snickers in his life.

He adds, "Being a cop for 31 and a half years, there's that gray area. These people never gave me that gray area."

But a federal judge did. For now, Snickers is home. And while he'll be missed by his foster father, Justin O'Brien from Iowa City, IA, even he agrees, it's where Snicker's belongs.

Snicker's will remain home until this entire lawsuit is over. So while Snickers is only temporarily allowed in city limits, Sak believes it's where Snickers will stay once everything is said and done.
