SDSU Blows Out Coyotes as Rivalry Resumes

 Griffan Callahan hit five 3-pointers and
scored 20 points as South Dakota State defeated South Dakota 86-56
Thursday night in a renewal of their intra-state rivalry.
  Callahan was 5 of 8 from beyond the arc for the Jackrabbits
(14-5, 6-1 Summit), who had not faced South Dakota since the
2003-04 season. Nate Wolters added 13 points and Tony Fiegen had
10.
  Louie Krogman had 15 points and Trevor Gruis scored 14 for the
Coyotes (6-10, 1-6). Leading scorer Charlie Westbrook, who had been
averaging 17.5 points per game, was 3 of 16 from the field and
finished with nine points.
  Ricardo Andreotti added 13 rebounds for South Dakota.
  South Dakota State dominated from the outset, jumping out to a
17-4 lead en route to a 50-21 advantage at halftime.
  The Jackrabbits shot 48 percent from the field, hit 15 of 16
free throws and committed just seven turnovers.
