Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin Won't Run For Election In SD

In South Dakota, former Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin says she won't run for election in 2012.

Kristi Noem defeated her in 2010, receiving 48% of the votes, whereas Sandlin got 46%.

Now, Herseth Sandlin wrote on her Facebook account that she would always give serious consideration to running for office in the future, but for now she is enjoying being a mom first and foremost.

Matt Varilek, a former member of Tim Johnson's" staff, and Minnehaha County Commissioner Jeff Barth are seeking the Democratic nomination to run against Noem in the fall.
