Wildcats Climb to #3

Wayne, Neb.--- Wayne State College has surpassed its' highest-ever national ranking in women's basketball as the Wildcats moved up one spot to third in this week's USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll released Tuesday afternoon. The Wildcats received a total of 650 points in voting conducted by various Division II head coaches from across the country.

            The Wildcats won a pair of road games last weekend, beating Southwest Minnesota State 63-52 and Minnesota State 83-45 to improve to 21-2 overall this season and 15-2 in the Northern Sun Conference. This weekend, WSC is back at home looking to defend their consecutive home win streak that stands at 39 as they host University of Mary Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. and Northern State Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. U-Mary was the team that handed the Wildcats their first loss of the season on December, 10th as the Marauders won 72-64 in Bismarck, N.D.
