Louie Krogman scored 22 points and made
five 3-pointers, and South Dakota survived a furious comeback by
South Dakota State in a 72-68 victory on Thursday night.
Charlie Westbrook had 18 points and Steve Tecker 11 for the
Coyotes (9-14, 4-10 Summit League), who had a 19-point lead midway
through the second half.
Nate Wolters scored 27 points and Chad White 17 for the
Jackrabbits (19-7, 11-3), who made 10 3-pointers in the second half
after going 0 for 8 from behind the arc in the first 20 minutes.
South Dakota hit eight 3-pointers in an 11:10 span to cut the
deficit to 70-68 with 23 seconds remaining. But Wolters missed a
potential game-tying 3-point attempt, and the Jackrabbits twice
missed the front end of a one-and-one in the final seconds, helping
South Dakota hold on.
The Coyotes shot 55.8 percent (29 of 52) from the floor.
