DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ A state audit has found more than $76,000 in questionable spending on a school district credit card by a former superintendent after an investigation found he purchased items ranging from clothes and electronics to sports memorabilia.

Tuesday's report looked at credit card records for the Clay Central-Everly school district in Royal from July 2005 through November 2010.

It found charges on a credit card issued to former Superintendent Monte Montgomery for purchases that included Ipods, groceries, tools, building materials, a television and other electronics, clothing, dog food and tires.

A telephone message left for Montgomery was not immediately returned.

The report shows he resigned in November 2010 after acknowledging he used the district credit card for personal use and wrote the district a check for $25,000.
