ISU Cruises by A&M

AMES, Iowa -- Chris Allen scored a season-high 25 points and Iowa State pounded Texas A&M 69-46 on Saturday for its fourth victory in five games.

 

Scott Christopherson added 10 points for the Cyclones (18-7, 8-4 Big 12), who pulled into a tie with Baylor for third place in the Big 12 ahead of Monday night's showdown with the Bears in Waco, Texas.

 

Iowa State turned a comfortable lead into a huge one with a 13-0 run early in the second half, putting the Cyclones ahead 48-22.

 

Texas A&M, the Big 12's second-worst offensive team, scored just three points in the opening 8 1/2 minutes of the second half as Iowa State cruised to another decisive win over the Aggies.

 

David Loubeau scored 10 points for Texas A&M (12-12, 3-9), which was outrebounded 38-22 en route to its fourth straight loss.
