Dr. Oz calls it a miracle fat burner. On his show last week, the TV doc told viewers about raspberry ketone and since then it's popularity has begun to soar here in Siouxland.

Dr. Oz is calling raspberry ketone a miracle fat burner and since the show aired last week Complete Nutrition Manager Kathy TeSlaa says these natural weight loss supplements have been flying off the shelves. So much, in fact that there's a waiting list for the pills.

"Basically I came in today to find out a little bit about the raspberry ketone I've heard a lot of buzz from Dr. Oz and everybody on the internet," said Rook Willia.

And TeSlaa says, "Immediately after that show must have aired we got phone call after phone call from people asking about raspberry ketone."

So why is Dr. Oz raving about it? Well raspberry ketone is what gives red raspberries their aroma. Taken in pill form experts say it boosts your metabolism.

TeSlaa says, "They're actually a natural thermagenic. What that means is it helps to raise the body's natural temperature just so it's burning more calories, burning more fat."

Would just eating raspberries do the same? Dr. Oz says no. It would take 90 pounds of the fruit to match a single dose of raspberry ketone. But one thing is certain, people are seeing results from this little pill inspiring others to give it a try.

"Yeah we absolutely see results, I've taken it, I do love it. It's something that I take if I have to kick myself in the butt a little bit," said TeSlaa

And Willia says, "I work out as it is and I watch my diet but at my age I kind of need a bit of a boost so we'll see what happens," said TeSlaa.

And remember no supplement can replace good old fashion healthy eating and exercise. Now, Dr. Oz says raspberry ketone has no side effects but some experts say it can increase your heart rate and affect blood pressure.
