Today, folks around Siouxland kicked it up a notch.
It was all for the annual White Tiger Martial Arts Tournament at the Sioux City Convention Center. Every year, martial art experts, young and old, gather to show off their stuff.
And for those still perfecting their skills, learning Taekwondo and other martial arts skills can have some real world importance.
10-year old Lauren White, of White Tiger Martial Arts said, "If you're getting bullied, or you're getting pushed around, you know what to do. But you don't hurt them, you just defend yourself and that's good for you."
The tournament continued all day, with plenty of karate kids proving it's not about violence but discipline.
