It was more than just a lesson in hockey, it was also a lesson in "getting back up" when you fall down.
Kids from age 4-9 laced up their skates for Siouxland Youth Hockey's "Try Hockey For Free" clinic.
Don't worry, no experience was necessary. Instead, many kids got their first real taste of the sport.
Kathy VanRooyan, of Siouxland Youth Hockey said, "It helps the kids with the coordination, there's teamwork, there's just a lot of things that go along with learning to skate."
"It was kind of fun. (Had you ever skated before?) Well, only on wheels. (Was it a little different?) Yea, it was way harder," said 7-year old Brent Nieman of Sioux City.
Today was part of the national "Hockey Weekend Across America."
Tomorrow is known as local "Hockey Hero" day, so be sure to sport those Muskie jersey's all day long!
