A children's museum is set to be built on the corner of Pearl and 7th Street in downtown Sioux City.

The museum will be a unique learning experience for children of all ages.

Executive Director of the Children's Museum, Kari Kellen says, "The hands on is really where this museum differs from anything else that we have around the community. Most museums are look with your ears or touch with your eyes only. This is hands on, get down and dirty, get interactive."

The building requires $4.5 billion in fundraising. The first fundraiser for the museum will be on April 5th at Elden's restaurant; 20% of all purchases will go towards the Children's Museum.

Kellen hopes to have the museum up and running by the summer of 2014.
